The Nifty Financial Services (Finnifty) Index refers to the Index of companies which are engaged in the Financial Sector. It helps track the performance of financial companies, which include banks, insurance companies, housing finance companies, and other finance-related entities. The total no of constituents involved in the Nifty Financial Services(Finnifty) is not more than 20 stocks. All the constituents must be listed on the National Stock Exchange. The method for calculating the Nifty Financial Exchange shall be based on the free-float market capitalisation, which represents the accurate picture of the stock value. 

The purposes for which the Nifty Financial Services (Finnifty) Index is used are benchmarking of fund portfolios, developing index funds, and structuring products. The Nifty Financial Services (Finnifty) Index was launched on 7th September, 2011, with a base date of 1st January,2004, with a base value of 1000, and is based on the criteria on a real-time basis. The index is rebalanced semi-annually. Top constituents of the Nifty Financial Services(Finnifty) are HDFC Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd, State Bank of India, Asia Bank Ltd.

The Nifty Financial Services(Finnifty) Index will be calculated based on free-float market capitalisation. It helps investors to invest in the Nifty Liquid Index most reliably. The Nifty Financial Services (Finnifty) Index provides a list of the top 15 companies, which are calculated based on free-float market capitalisation, so that investors have data on different sectors in which they can invest in the Nifty Financial Services (Finnifty) Index.  

The Nifty Financial Services Index is calculated by multiplying the stock price by the free-float shares and then summing the values obtained by multiplying the above value.
