Nifty Falls Toward 23,700 Amid Low Global Cues and Settlement Day: Check For Experts Verdicts

Share Market Live Updates: Indian benchmark index NSE Nifty showed a flat opening today at 26,277.35 on 26th December 2024 and showed a positive trend in the morning session. The stock market is experiencing a lack of global cues as the global markets are closed on 25th December 2025. Low trade volume can be anticipated for today’s session. 

In the previous session (24th December 2024), the benchmark Nifty 50 was down 0.11% and closed at 23,727.65. Moreover, December 26th is recorded as the settlement day for monthly contracts on the NSE (National Stock Exchange), which helps individual stocks remain volatile during the session. 

Nifty 50 Shares On Focus

With the Nifty 50 expiry of 2024, Nalco India Ltd., BPCL Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd., Apollo Hospitals Ltd., and NTPC Ltd. will be the focus of investors. 

Asian Paint Ltd.’s share plunged by 0.44% and TCS by 0.71%. Both of these stocks are showing downtrends for the rest of the day. Apart from this, Adani Ports Ltd. surged by 1.81% and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. by 1.64%.

Expert’s Outlook

Experts claimed that factors like broader economic conditions, industry trends, and more shaped 2024’s ups and downs. They also said that the short trend trend for the Nifty50 index is still weak, and there is no sign of bottom reversals. The immediate resistance for the benchmark Nifty 50 could be 23,900 to 24,000. Nagaraj Shetti (Senior Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities) gave the lower support of this index at 23,500.
