NIFTY50
The index ended the week with a 1.09% loss, settling at 24,565. The week began on a weak note, with broad-based selling pressure dragging the index lower on Monday. This initial decline was followed by a short-lived recovery on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the index attempted to bounce back from oversold levels, supported by select sectoral buying. However, the rebound lacked conviction, and renewed selling pressure in the latter part of the week erased earlier gains, leading to a weak weekly close and a loss of near-term momentum. The closing below key levels indicates continued caution among market participants. For the week ahead, resistance is expected around 24,900, while strong support is placed near 24,200. A buy-on-dips approach near support levels could be considered, with minimal risk, provided there are signs of stability or recovery from lower levels.

BANKNIFTY
The index ended the week with a 1.61% loss, settling at 55,618. It began on a weak note, facing broad-based selling pressure on Monday that pushed the index lower. Although the next two sessions saw some recovery from lower levels, the rebound lacked strength and failed to hold, as renewed selling pressure in the latter part of the week erased earlier gains. The index closed on a negative note, reflecting a loss of momentum and cautious sentiment. Notably, PSU banks underperformed their private sector counterparts, adding to the drag on the index. For the upcoming week, key resistance is seen around 56,500, while support lies near 55,000. The broader view remains cautiously positive, with a buy-on-dips approach near support levels offering a favorable risk-reward setup.
