Swiggy Shares Rise Over 6% After 4-Session Fall: Is This a Relief Rally or Is the Worst Over? Experts Decode, Check Target and Stop Loss

Quick Answer

Swiggy shares rebounded because the stock had fallen about 24.9% in four sessions after the Q2 FY27 results, and a 14-day RSI near 27.7 showed it was deeply oversold. The rebound is stock-specific, since the Nifty 50 was up only 0.10% around 1:14 PM while Swiggy rose 8.41%. Brokerages kept most Buy ratings, and the nine targets I could verify run from Rs 230 to Rs 400 with a median of Rs 300 (my calculation), but the daily trend is still down and Instamart losses keep the earnings outlook uncertain. This is educational and not a recommendation to buy or sell.

The Swiggy share price rose over 6% in early trade on Monday and was up about 8.4% by 1:11 PM, as buyers returned after a four-session slide that followed the Q2 results. The question for every Swiggy share holder is whether this is a relief rally inside a downtrend or the start of a base, and the answer depends on Instamart losses, brokerage targets and the price levels below.

This article covers the day's move in the Swiggy share, the four-session fall, the Q2 FY27 numbers, every brokerage call I could verify, valuation, shareholding, technical levels and the risks. I could not retrieve the expert target and stop loss quoted in the source headline, so the levels here come from indicator readings and brokerage reports. It is educational and not advice.

Swiggy Share Price Today: A Sharp Rebound After a 4-Session Fall

Swiggy share: measure (NSE, about 1:11 PM) Reading
Last price Rs 190.80, up 8.41%
Previous close (23 Oct) Rs 176.00, down 16.75% that day
Open Rs 176.00
Day high and low Rs 191.55 and Rs 174.20
Early-morning high in the source headline Rs 186.65, about 6.05% above the previous close (my calculation)
Volume About 3.99 crore shares
52-week high Rs 434
Distance from 52-week high About 56.0% below (my calculation)
Distance from IPO price of Rs 390 About 51.1% below (my calculation)

The headline gain of 6% was the early-morning picture, when the Swiggy share touched Rs 186.65 after opening at Rs 176. Buying kept building, and by about 1:11 PM the Swiggy share had reached Rs 191.55 before easing to Rs 190.80, which is a gain of 8.41% on Friday's close. By comparison the Nifty 50 was up 0.10% and the Nifty Midcap 50 up 0.49% around 1:14 PM, and Eternal was up 2.49%, so the move in the Swiggy share is mainly its own.

Swiggy share: session (2026) Close (Rs) Change Volume (lakh shares)
16 Oct 234.30 Up 2.31% 75.9
19 Oct 229.00 Down 2.26% 48.0
21 Oct 223.65 Down 2.34% 108.1
22 Oct 211.40 Down 5.48% 270.4
23 Oct 176.00 Down 16.75% 1,374.3
26 Oct (about 1:11 PM) 190.80 Up 8.41% 398.6

The four losing sessions were 19, 21, 22 and 23 Oct, and together they took the Swiggy share down about 24.9% from Rs 234.30 to Rs 176 (my calculation). Friday's fall came on volume of about 13.74 crore shares, roughly 24 times the average of the six sessions from 12 to 19 Oct (my calculation), which looks like forced and panic selling. Monday's rebound in the Swiggy share on about 3.99 crore shares by early afternoon shows that demand has returned, though at a lower level than Friday's heavy selling.

Why the Swiggy Share Fell: Q2 FY27 Results

Swiggy Q2 FY27 item Q2 FY27 Comparison
Operating revenue Rs 7,571 crore Up 36% year on year
Consolidated net loss Rs 922 crore Rs 1,092 crore a year ago; Rs 791 crore in Q1 FY27
Instamart adjusted EBITDA loss Rs 895 crore Rs 849 crore a year ago; Rs 778 crore in Q1
Instamart segment loss Rs 764 crore Rs 739 crore a year ago; Rs 651 crore in Q1
Food delivery operating revenue Rs 2,338 crore Up 22% year on year
Food delivery segment profit Rs 349 crore Up 39% year on year

The loss narrowed by about 16% from a year ago but widened by about 17% from Q1, and the market focused on the second fact. Brokerages cited Instamart's widening losses and slower-than-expected growth as the main concerns, and the Swiggy share dropped as much as 17.23% to Rs 174.90 on BSE on Friday, a 52-week low. The stock had already fallen more than 5% on Thursday before the results were released.

Reports differ on some Instamart measures. One puts Instamart gross order value at Rs 9,230 crore, up 31.4%, while another quotes Rs 6,954 crore for net order value with a similar growth rate, and the contribution margin is reported between minus 1.0% and minus 1.4% against about minus 0.2% to minus 0.3% in Q1. I use the growth rates and the Rs 895 crore EBITDA loss, which are consistent across sources.

Instamart, Food Delivery and Quick Commerce: What Drives the Swiggy Share

Swiggy share: business driver Latest reading
Instamart orders 130.3 million, up 29% year on year
Instamart average order value Rs 506, up 4%
Instamart dark stores 1,240 across 133 cities after adding 69
Instamart adjusted EBITDA margin About minus 9.7% of order value
Food delivery order value growth About 18% year on year
Food delivery adjusted EBITDA margin 3.4% of order value, up from 3.1% in Q1
Food delivery transacting users 19.8 million a month, up 15.1%
Rival Blinkit adjusted EBITDA Positive Rs 184 crore in the same quarter

The gap between the two businesses explains the Swiggy share story. Food delivery earns a healthy segment profit and is improving, while quick commerce burns cash to buy growth. The comparison with Blinkit hurts, because Eternal's quick-commerce arm reported a positive adjusted EBITDA of Rs 184 crore while Instamart lost Rs 895 crore, and Eternal reported a Q2 net profit of Rs 125 crore on revenue of Rs 24,138 crore.

Management has given the Swiggy share a recovery path. Swiggy said Instamart losses peaked in Q2, and it expects double-digit sequential growth in net order value and about 100 basis points of margin improvement in Q3 FY27. It also plans to move Instamart to an inventory-led model by mid-Q3 over two to three quarters, and guides food delivery growth of 18% to 20% for FY27 excluding Toing. These are management expectations and not outcomes, and the next result will show whether they hold.

Swiggy Share Price Target: What Brokerages Say After Q2

Swiggy share: brokerage (after Q2) Rating Target (Rs) Versus Rs 190.80 (my calculation)
ICICI Securities Buy 400 (cut from 520) Up 109.6%
UBS Buy 375 (maintained) Up 96.5%
Citi Buy 330 (cut) Up 73.0%
Jefferies Buy 330 (lowered) Up 73.0%
Nomura Buy 300 (cut) Up 57.2%
CLSA Outperform 262 (cut) Up 37.3%
Bank of America Neutral 245 (from 275) Up 28.4%
HSBC Hold 240 (from 315) Up 25.8%
Macquarie Underperform 230 Up 20.5%

The nine targets I could verify average about Rs 301 and the median is Rs 300, which is about 57% above the current price (my calculation). Even Macquarie's Underperform target of Rs 230 sits above the current Swiggy share price, which tells you that most of the cut came from valuation models and not from a view that the business is failing. Goldman Sachs, Bernstein and JPMorgan are also reported to have cut targets, but I could not retrieve their numbers.

ICICI Securities cut its target to Rs 400 from Rs 520 by raising its cost of capital assumption by 100 basis points and moving to a fully diluted share count, and it lowered its FY27 EBITDA estimate to a loss of Rs 2,253 crore from a loss of Rs 1,097 crore. Jefferies said the price does not reflect the standalone value of food delivery and cash holdings, which implies the market is giving Instamart a negative value. A target is an analyst's view and not a forecast, and every Swiggy share price target here can change after the next quarter.

Valuation and Shareholding of Swiggy

Swiggy share: valuation (data provider) Reading
Market capitalisation at Friday's close Rs 48,775 crore
Market capitalisation at Rs 190.80 About Rs 52,900 crore (my calculation)
Book value per share Rs 61.53
Price to book at Rs 190.80 About 3.10 (my calculation); 2.87 at Friday's close
Trailing earnings per share Minus Rs 12.96
Return on equity Minus 21.08%
Debt to equity 0.15
Swiggy share: shareholding Jun 2026 Sep 2026
Promoters 0.00% 0.00%
Foreign institutions 13.96% 8.86%
Domestic institutions 27.38% 34.49%
Public 58.66% 56.65%

With no earnings, valuation of the Swiggy share rests on book value and on how investors value Instamart, so a price to book of about 3.1 says little on its own. The Swiggy share carries little debt, with debt to equity at 0.15, which means losses are funded mainly from equity and cash and not from borrowing.

In the September 2026 quarter, foreign institutions cut their holding by 5.10 percentage points to 8.86%, while domestic institutions raised theirs by 7.11 points to 34.49% (my calculation). The largest holders among them include SBI Large and Midcap Fund at 5.12%, Kotak Midcap Fund at 4.59%, Nippon India Multi Cap Fund at 4.21% and ICICI Prudential Multi-Asset Fund at 4.12%, so domestic mutual funds have been the buyers in the Swiggy share.

Swiggy Share Technical Levels: Relief Rally or Trend Change?

Swiggy share: indicator (daily) Reading
14-day RSI About 27.7, oversold
20-day EMA About Rs 229.45, 16.8% above the price (my calculation)
50-day average About Rs 259.49, 26.5% above the price (my calculation)
SuperTrend Sell; upper band Rs 218.55, lower band Rs 147.36
MACD Minus 17.47 against a signal of minus 13.10, negative
ADX and directional lines ADX 56.5; plus DI 7.1, minus DI 44.2, a strong down trend
Stochastic %K 18.7 and %D 9.4, oversold
Bollinger bands Lower Rs 190.35, middle Rs 232.34, upper Rs 274.33
Average true range About Rs 11.08 a day
Swiggy share: level for stop loss and target planning Rs What it marks
Resistance 3 218.55 SuperTrend upper band
Resistance 2 211.40 22 Oct close, the gap-fill area
Resistance 1 196.35 Classic pivot resistance from 23 Oct (my calculation)
Support 1 185.65 Classic pivot from 23 Oct (my calculation)
Support 2 176.00 Friday's close
Support 3 174.20 Monday's low and the 52-week low area

The indicators describe a bounce in the Swiggy share inside a strong down trend. An RSI near 27.7 and a stochastic reading under 20 mark oversold conditions, and relief rallies often start from such readings. At the same time, the ADX of 56.5 with minus DI far above plus DI says the trend itself is strong, and the price is still 16.8% under its 20-day average and below the SuperTrend upper band.

For anyone planning a Swiggy stop loss, the levels above are the reference points that technical traders use, and a close under Rs 174.20 would mean the rebound has failed. A close above Rs 218.55 would be the first sign of a trend change, and the Swiggy relief rally would then face the 20-day average near Rs 229. These are indicator readings and not recommendations, and any Swiggy stop loss should match your own risk limit. With an average daily range near Rs 11, a tight stop can be hit by normal movement.

Swiggy Relief Rally or Worst Over? A Framework by Investor Type

Investor type Things to weigh What to check
Long-term investor A food delivery business that is growing profit, against quick-commerce losses that management says peaked in Q2 Instamart margin in the Q3 result and the move to an inventory-led model
Short-term trader A Swiggy relief rally from an oversold level inside a strong down trend Reaction at Rs 196 and Rs 211, and support near Rs 174 to Rs 176
Existing holder Brokerage targets for the Swiggy share all above the market price, but cut after the result Your own entry price, position size and risk limit

None of these rows is a recommendation. The Swiggy relief rally question comes down to time frame, because the same price can be a recovery for a patient investor and a trap for a trader who ignores the trend.

Risks to Check Before You Act on the Swiggy Share

  1. Instamart losses. For the Swiggy share, the Instamart adjusted EBITDA loss widened to Rs 895 crore, and management's peak-loss claim is untested.
  2. Competition. For the Swiggy share, Blinkit already reports a positive adjusted EBITDA, which raises the bar for Instamart.
  3. Forecast cuts. For the Swiggy share, ICICI Securities now expects an FY27 EBITDA loss of Rs 2,253 crore, and further estimate cuts would pressure the price.
  4. Institutional shifts. For the Swiggy share, foreign holding fell to 8.86%, and heavy selling by large holders can return.
  5. Volatility. The Swiggy share moved minus 16.75% and then plus 8.41% in two sessions, so position size matters.

Conclusion

The Swiggy share rose over 6% in early trade and about 8.4% by 1:11 PM after a 24.9% four-session fall, helped by oversold readings and brokerage targets that all sit above the price. The trend is still down and Instamart losses remain the key risk, so read the reports, watch the levels near Rs 174 and Rs 196, and decide according to your own risk profile.

On Monday, 26 Oct 2026, it opened at Rs 176, touched Rs 186.65 early and reached Rs 191.55 by about 1:11 PM, up as much as 8.84%. Brokerage targets that remain above the price and buying by domestic funds are the visible supports.

What is the Swiggy share price target after Q2?

Ans. The nine brokerage targets I could verify run from Rs 230 from Macquarie to Rs 400 from ICICI Securities, with a median of Rs 300. UBS has Rs 375, Citi and Jefferies Rs 330, Nomura Rs 300, CLSA Rs 262, Bank of America Rs 245 and HSBC Rs 240. Most targets were cut after the results, and they can change again.

Is the Swiggy rebound a relief rally or is the worst over?

Ans. The evidence says relief rally so far. The ADX of 56.5 shows a strong down trend, and the price remains under the 20-day average near Rs 229 and the SuperTrend upper band at Rs 218.55. A close above Rs 218.55 would be the first sign of a trend change, and a close under Rs 174.20 would mean the bounce has failed.

Ans. On daily indicators, support sits near Rs 185.65, Rs 176 and Rs 174.20, and resistance near Rs 196.35, Rs 211.40 and Rs 218.55. The pivot levels are my calculation from Friday's price range. A Swiggy stop loss should match your own risk limit, and these readings are not recommendations.

Brokerages pointed to those losses and to slower-than-expected growth. The stock fell as much as 17.23% to Rs 174.90 on BSE on 23 Oct, a 52-week low.

Instamart orders grew 29% to 130.3 million, and it has 1,240 dark stores in 133 cities. Management says Instamart losses peaked in Q2, but that is an expectation and not a result.
