Milky Mist Shares Have Surged 113% From the IPO Price in 2 Months, but Nuvama Sees More Returns: Target Price, Q1 Numbers, Valuation and Risks
Milky Mist shares rose 4.99% to Rs 299.55 on the NSE (Rs 298.75 on the BSE) on Tuesday, 27 Oct 2026, which is about 113% above the IPO price of Rs 140, and Nuvama has initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a target of Rs 330, about 10.2% above the NSE price (my calculation). The stock closed at its high of the day after opening at Rs 292, so the rise looks like a hit of the 5% price band.

Quick Answer
Milky Mist shares are in focus because Nuvama has initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a Rs 330 target, citing growth in value-added dairy, expansion beyond South India and improving cash flows, while flagging concentration and milk price risks. Q1 FY27 revenue grew about 43% to Rs 974.53 crore and profit rose to Rs 64.68 crore from Rs 6.53 crore, but the stock trades at 172.45 times earnings with a debt to equity of 3.62. I could not retrieve the full Nuvama note, so the target is taken from the headline summary. This is educational and not a recommendation.
Milky Mist shares have more than doubled in about two months since the August listing, which is why a broker's Buy call now matters less than the price already paid. This article looks at what Milky Mist shares have done since the IPO, the Q1 numbers, the Nuvama target, the valuation and the risks that the broker itself flags. The Milky Mist share price of Rs 299.55 on the NSE is the base for any upside calculation.
I could not retrieve the full Nuvama report or its valuation method, and I did not find the Q2 FY27 results date for Milky Mist Dairy Food. The 113% figure uses the BSE price from the headline, and the NSE price gives about 114%. It is educational and not advice.

Milky Mist Shares: From the IPO Price to Now
| Milky Mist shares: reference | Price (Rs) | Gain from IPO price (my calculation) |
|---|---|---|
| IPO price | 140 | Base |
| Listing price on 18 Aug 2026 | 165 | About 17.9% |
| Upper band on 11 Sep 2026 (BSE) | 293.30 | About 109.5% |
| Close on 27 Oct 2026 (BSE) | 298.75 | About 113.4% |
| Close on 27 Oct 2026 (NSE) | 299.55 | About 114.0% |
The IPO raised Rs 1,553 crore, made up of a fresh issue of Rs 1,428.2 crore and an offer for sale of Rs 125 crore, after being cut from Rs 2,035 crore. It was subscribed 56.12 times, with qualified institutional buyers at 155.83 times, non-institutional investors at 34.91 times and retail at 8.41 times. Measured against the listing price of Rs 165, Milky Mist shares are up about 81.5% (my calculation).
The stock hit the upper band at Rs 293.30 on 11 Sep, after rising about 36.5% in two weeks, and the exchanges placed it under the short-term additional surveillance framework. Six weeks later it is only about 2.1% higher (my calculation), so Milky Mist shares have mostly consolidated since that jump.

Milky Mist Shares: What Nuvama Says
| Milky Mist shares: broker view | Rating and target | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Nuvama | Buy, target Rs 330 (about 10.2% above Rs 299.55) | Growth in value-added dairy, expansion beyond South India, better cash flows; risks are concentration and milk prices |
| DAM Capital (before listing) | Buy, target Rs 175 | Called it a scaled pure-play value-added dairy company; the stock is now about 71% above that target (my calculation) |
| Ravi Singh, Master Capital Services (11 Sep) | Near-term target Rs 320, stop loss Rs 265 | Technical view at Rs 293.30 |
| AR Ramachandran, Tips2trades (11 Sep) | Book profits; resistance Rs 317, support Rs 272 | Overbought on daily charts; a close below Rs 272 could lead to Rs 227 |
The upside to the Nuvama target price is about 10%, which is modest after a 113% run, so the call is more about business quality than about quick gains. The September technical targets were set at lower prices, and the stock traded above Rs 295 without hitting the Rs 317 resistance.

Milky Mist Shares: Q1 FY27 Numbers
| Milky Mist shares: Q1 FY27 (Rs crore) | Jun 2026 | Jun 2025 | Change (my calculation) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 974.53 | 679.85 | About 43.3% |
| EBITDA | 144.89 | 83.02 | About 74.5% |
| Operating margin | 14.88% | 12.24% | Up 2.6 percentage points |
| Net profit | 64.68 | 6.53 | About 9.9 times |
A report on the quarter gives slightly different figures, revenue of Rs 973.4 crore and EBITDA of Rs 143.8 crore, so the gap is rounding or basis. Segment growth was strong: paneer rose 34%, cheese 38%, curd 27%, yogurt 153% and ice cream 60%. The gross margin improved by 275 basis points to 34.2% and finance costs fell about 29% to Rs 24 crore.
Management expects the high-protein range to grow 50% to 60% a year and is launching a high-protein paneer, while a new plant in Tamil Nadu is expected to add capacity. Milky Mist Dairy Food sources from 74,654 farmers and sells through more than 3.75 lakh retail points, and it has no exposure to liquid milk. The March 2026 quarter showed a profit of Rs 92.41 crore, which is higher than June's, so the quarterly profit trend is not a straight line.
Valuation and Technical Levels for Milky Mist Shares
| Milky Mist shares: measure | Reading | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Price to earnings | 172.45 | Industry level is 32.65 |
| Price to book | 9.46 | Book value Rs 30.08 per share |
| Return on equity | 27.43% | High |
| Debt to equity | 3.62 | High debt |
| Market cap | Rs 21,906 crore | About 2.0 times the valuation at the IPO price of Rs 10,778 crore (my calculation) |
| 14-day RSI | 42.35 | Neutral to weak |
| 20-day EMA | Rs 300.30 | Price is about 0.2% below it |
| SuperTrend (10, 3) | Buy; lower band Rs 255.12, upper band Rs 321.81 | Price sits in the middle of the range |
The trailing multiple of 172.45 is more than five times the industry level, although trailing earnings include earlier, lower-profit quarters (my reading), so forward estimates matter more. A close in the Milky Mist share price above the 20-day average of Rs 300.30 and then the upper band of Rs 321.81 would show strength, while a fall below Rs 272, the September support, would weaken the picture.
Risks and What to Watch Next
- Concentration. Nuvama flags concentration risk, and a listing-day report says about 94.5% of raw milk is procured in Tamil Nadu, which I could not check in the filing.
- Milk prices. A rise in raw milk costs can squeeze margins and hurt Milky Mist shares.
- Valuation. At 172.45 times earnings, Milky Mist shares leave little room for a growth miss.
- Debt. Debt to equity of 3.62 is high, although finance costs are falling.
- Volatility. Milky Mist shares have moved in 5% band steps and was placed under surveillance on 11 Sep.
Conclusion: Milky Mist Shares Have Momentum, and the Price Already Shows It
Milky Mist shares have fast growth, improving margins and a new broker Buy call, but they also have a high multiple, high debt and a price already more than double the IPO price. The Nuvama target price of Rs 330 leaves about 10% upside over the Milky Mist share price, so Q2 results and milk costs will decide the next move. Verify the filings and decide according to your own risk profile.
