Jio Financial Services Share Price Decoded: Reliance Stock Performance Amid Jio Platforms Listing Buzz, Q2 Results, Outlook and Key Levels
The Jio Financial share price closed at Rs 207.24 on Tuesday, 27 Oct 2026, up 0.98% from Rs 205.23, while Reliance Industries closed at Rs 1,196.20, down 0.47%, a day before Jio Platforms is expected to list on 28 Oct. Jio Financial Services is a separate company and is not part of the Jio Platforms issue, so any effect on the stock is indirect.

Quick Answer
The Jio Financial share price has no direct link to the Jio Platforms listing, because Jio Financial Services is a different listed company and was not part of the issue, which is why market experts call the impact indirect. The stock is more exposed to its own Q2 FY27 results, in which net profit fell 51% to Rs 340.44 crore while gross AUM in the lending arm rose 154% to Rs 37,320 crore. At 79.31 times earnings and a return on equity of 1.32%, the Jio Financial share price already reflects expectations of growth in lending, asset management and payments. This is educational and not a recommendation.
The Jio Financial share price often moves with Reliance group headlines, so the Jio Platforms IPO and its listing on 28 Oct have put the stock back in focus. This article explains what the Jio Platforms IPO is, why it is not the same as Jio Financial Services, what the Jio Financial share price has done after the Q2 results and what the technical levels show, and it shows how Reliance stock has behaved around the issue.
I could not find brokerage target prices for the Jio Financial share price after the Q2 results, and the only listing-price expectation I found for Jio Platforms comes from one analyst in a report with some unclear details. It is educational and not advice.

Jio Platforms Listing: What Is Different From Jio Financial Services
| Jio Financial share price: Jio Platforms issue | Detail |
|---|---|
| Dates | Opened 21 Oct, closed 23 Oct 2026; listing expected on Wednesday, 28 Oct 2026 |
| Price band and anchor price | Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119; anchor investors were allotted shares at Rs 1,119 |
| Issue size | A fresh issue of 27 crore shares raising about Rs 30,213 crore at the upper end; no shares sold by Reliance |
| Subscription | 22.19 times overall; qualified institutional buyers 70.55 times, non-institutional 14 times, retail 2.72 times |
| Applications | About 1.39 crore, described as a record |
| Reliance stake | 66.43% before the issue and about 64.48% after, assuming the full fresh issue (my source's illustration) |
| Use of proceeds | Mainly to prepay up to Rs 27,500 crore of borrowings of the telecom subsidiary |
A source dated 15 Oct states plainly that Jio Platforms is different from Jio Financial Services and that Jio Financial is not part of the issue. One analyst expects a listing price of Rs 1,350 to Rs 1,400, which is about 21% to 25% above the Rs 1,119 anchor price (my calculation), and a near-term Reliance target of Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,300. That is a single view, and the report it appears in contains some garbled details.

Jio Financial Share Price and Reliance Share Price Compared
| Jio Financial share price: measure | Jio Financial Services | Reliance Industries |
|---|---|---|
| Close on 27 Oct 2026 | Rs 207.24 (+0.98%) | Rs 1,196.20 (-0.47%) |
| Day range | Rs 204.30 to Rs 208 | Rs 1,184 to Rs 1,202.60 |
| 14-day RSI | 34.06 | 44.03 |
| 20-day EMA | Rs 213.30 | Rs 1,193.37 |
| SuperTrend (10, 3) | Buy; lower band Rs 203.16, upper band Rs 220.56 | Buy; lower band Rs 1,134.72, upper band Rs 1,230.75 |
The Reliance share price closed at Rs 1,202 before the Jio Platforms issue opened and traded near Rs 1,200 at allotment, so it has been flat through the issue (about 0.5% lower now, my calculation). The Jio Financial share price is about 2.8% below its 20-day average and has an RSI of 34.06, which is weak, while it sits about 2.0% above the lower SuperTrend band of Rs 203.16. These are trend readings and not targets.

Q2 FY27 Results Behind the Jio Financial Share Price
| Jio Financial share price: Q2 FY27 (Rs crore) | Q2 FY27 | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Total income | 1,699 | Up 132% year on year |
| Interest income | 1,258 | Up 221% year on year |
| Total expenses | 1,125 | Up 166% year on year |
| Finance cost | 578 | Up 325% year on year |
| Pre-provision operating profit | 574 | Up 85% year on year |
| Provisions | 41 | Up 208% year on year |
| Profit before tax | 489 | Down 37% year on year |
| Net profit | 340.44 | Down 51% from 695.04; down 59% from 830.25 in Q1 |
The fall in profit behind the Jio Financial share price has three causes. Dividend income was nil against Rs 269 crore a year earlier and Rs 509 crore in Q1, the share of associates and joint ventures swung to a loss of Rs 44 crore from a gain of Rs 217 crore, and finance costs rose with borrowings of Rs 42,007 crore, up about 250%. Motilal Oswal said profit was about 27% below its estimate, partly due to higher provisions, and cut its FY27 earnings estimates, and the stock fell about 2.3% to 2.5% on 16 Oct.
One source says total income rose 14% from Q1, while the data provider's revenue of Rs 1,699.41 crore is about 15% below its Q1 figure of Rs 2,004.54 crore (my calculation), because the provider includes dividend income. The difference is one of definition, so use the same basis when comparing quarters.
Growth Engines Behind the Jio Financial Share Price
| Jio Financial share price: business | Q2 FY27 reading | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Jio Credit (lending) | Gross AUM Rs 37,320 crore, up 154%; disbursements Rs 13,135 crore, up 98%; profit Rs 120 crore, up 140% | Mortgages 44.5% and corporate and SME 44.2% of AUM |
| Lending funding | Capital adequacy 18.50%; average borrowing cost 7.08% | Borrowings are funding the growth |
| JioBlackRock Asset Management | Closing AUM Rs 22,746 crore, up 57% | About 12 lakh retail investors |
| Jio Payments Bank | Deposits Rs 643 crore, up 53%; about 40 lakh CASA customers | Small base |
| Insurance broking | Premiums facilitated Rs 347 crore, up 46% | Joint ventures still await approvals |
| Jio Finance app | 3.2 crore unique users; about 80 lakh monthly active users | More than 30 products |
Lending is the engine, and it is also what raises finance costs and provisions. The asset management, payments and insurance businesses are small today, so the Jio Financial share price rests on lending growth and on how quickly the other arms become profitable.
Valuation of the Jio Financial Share Price
| Jio Financial share price: measure | Reading (data provider) | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Price to earnings | 79.31 | Industry level is 16.20 |
| Price to book | 1.05 | Book value Rs 196.26 per share |
| Return on equity | 1.32% | Low, as the company is still building its books |
| Earnings per share (TTM) | Rs 2.59 | Fell with Q2 profit |
| Debt to equity | 0.32 | Rising with lending |
| Market cap | Rs 1,35,629 crore | Data provider |
| Dividend yield | 0.28% | Low |
At a price to book of 1.05, the Jio Financial share price values the company close to its net worth, while the price to earnings of 79.31 shows how low current earnings are against that equity. The Jio Financial share price therefore depends on a rise in return on equity as lending scales.
Risks and What to Watch Next
- Indirect link. The Jio Platforms listing on 28 Oct does not change Jio Financial's earnings, so any move can fade.
- Earnings quality. Net profit fell 51% and dividend income was nil, so the Jio Financial share price relies on lending growth for profit.
- Funding costs. Borrowings rose about 250% and finance costs rose 325%.
- Provisions. Provisions rose 208%, which was a reason for the miss against estimates.
- Valuation. At 79.31 times earnings, the Jio Financial share price needs the return on equity to rise.
Conclusion: The Jio Financial Share Price Follows Its Own Numbers
The Jio Financial share price shares a group name with Jio Platforms but not its earnings, and the listing on 28 Oct is an indirect factor at best. The stock's own story is fast lending growth against a sharp fall in Q2 profit, a weak RSI of 34.06 and a high multiple. Watch the next quarter's profit, provisions and AUM. Verify the filings and decide according to your own risk profile.
