Currently (11:40:05 IST), BSE Sensex is trading at 0.35% or 263.34 points up at 82,142.44. However, Nifty50 trades 0.30% or 72.70 points up to reach 25,097. U.S. stock index futures are consolidating and holding steady amid the weakness in technology shares and growing uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s plans for interest rates, keeping investors on the sidelines. Commodities held gains led by an up move from the Crude prices on a sharper decline in U.S. inventories.

Key Considerations for the Stock Market Today

The US Fed’s July meeting minutes showed most officials see inflation as a bigger risk than job market weakness, with a majority prioritising controlling rising prices over labour concerns.
The RBI’s August MPC minutes show members warned that global trade tensions and tariffs could slow growth, but noted that India’s economy is still resilient and inflation remains under control.
Elight infrastructure sectors growth slowed down to 2% in July 2025 from 6.3% in the same month in the previous year.
The Dollar price fell after Donald Trump called on the Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook to resign.
Gold prices stayed steady, with spot gold at $3,343.09/oz and US December futures at $3,386.10/oz, as investors awaited Federal Reserve policy signals from the Jackson Hole symposium.
