Reliance Power Solar BEES Order
Reliance Power’s subsidiary company, Reliance NU Energies, was awarded the maximum share in SJVN’s tariff-based competitive bidding process. The award consists of 350 MW of solar manufacturing capacity and a 175 MW/700 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). In a build-own-operate (BOO) arrangement, this project after completion is expected to bring 600 MWp of installed solar PV capacity and 700 MWh of energy storage to the portfolio of Reliance Power.
The company observed that this order solidifies its leadership position in cutting-edge energy solutions, growing its total clean energy pipeline to 2.5 GWp solar and >2.5 GWhr BESS, making it India’s top industry player in the combined Solar + BESS space. The project has a minimum four-hour per day discharge window, which guarantees peak power supply to state distribution utilities.
