LTM dividend of Rs 25 per share, declared with the Q2 FY27 results on 16 Oct 2026, has its record date today, 23 Oct. The face value is Re 1, so the payout is 2,500% of face value. LTM Dividend 2026: Record Date Today, Rs 25 Payout, Past Dividend History and Q2 Results

Quick Answer

LTM dividend for the September 2026 quarter is an interim payout of Rs 25 per equity share of face value Re 1, up from Rs 22 a year ago. The record date is 23 Oct 2026, and under the T+1 cycle the ex-dividend date normally falls on the same day, so shares had to be held by the close of 22 Oct to qualify. The payment date was not stated in the sources I read, so check the exchange filing. At Rs 4,168.30 the yield on this payout is about 0.6%.

LTM dividend news comes at a mixed time for the stock, because Q2 revenue grew in double digits while net profit was flat and order inflow fell. The shares jumped 3.66% to Rs 4,390 on the results day, 16 Oct, and have since given back about 5% (my calculation).

This article on LTM dividend explains the amount, the record date and the ex-dividend rule, compares it with past payouts, summarises the Q2 results and lists what to check before you act. It is educational and not a recommendation to buy or sell.

Who Gets the LTM Dividend? The Ex-Dividend Rule

Since India moved to T+1 settlement, a share bought on a given day is delivered the next working day. This means the ex-dividend date and the record date are normally the same day, and a buyer on 23 Oct does not receive the LTM dividend. To qualify, an investor needed to buy the shares on or before 22 Oct and still hold them on 23 Oct.

  1. Held at the close of 22 Oct: eligible for the Rs 25 per share.
  2. Bought on 23 Oct: not eligible, because the shares trade ex-dividend from today.
  3. Sold on 23 Oct after holding on 22 Oct: still eligible, because the record date position is what counts.

An investor with 100 shares receives Rs 2,500 before tax (my calculation). Dividend income is taxed at the investor's slab rate, and a resident investor may see 10% TDS where the dividend from one company exceeds the annual threshold, so check the current rule with your tax adviser.

LTM dividend: date term What it means for you
Declaration date The day the board approved the LTM dividend, 16 Oct 2026
Record date The day the company checks its register to see who owns the shares, 23 Oct 2026
Ex-dividend date The first day the shares trade without the right to the payout, normally the record date under T+1
Payment date The day the money reaches the bank account linked to your demat account

You can check whether you are eligible by looking at your demat holding statement for 22 Oct. If the shares show there, the LTM dividend should be credited to the bank account linked to the demat account, and the credit usually shows as a corporate action entry. Keep the entry for your tax filing.

LTM Dividend History

LTM dividend: payout Amount per share Record date
Interim, declared 16 Oct 2025 Rs 22 24 Oct 2025
Final for FY26, announced 23 Apr 2026 Rs 53 25 May 2026
Total for FY26 Rs 75 Not applicable
Interim, declared 16 Oct 2026 Rs 25 23 Oct 2026

The interim LTM dividend of Rs 25 is about 13.6% higher than the Rs 22 paid a year ago (my calculation). The company paid a total of Rs 75 per share for FY26 across the interim and final payouts. If the final dividend for FY27 matches the previous year, the total for the year would be well above Rs 75, but a final dividend is a board decision and cannot be assumed.

LTM Dividend and the Q2 FY27 Results

LTM dividend: Q2 FY27 metric Figure
Revenue from operations Rs 11,807.6 crore, up 13.6% YoY and 1.7% QoQ
Revenue in dollars $1,235.2 million; constant currency growth of 5.1% YoY
Net profit Rs 1,379.9 crore, flat YoY and down 6% from Rs 1,468.6 crore in Q1
EBITDA Rs 2,093.3 crore, margin 17.7% against 18.6%
EBIT Rs 1,838.1 crore, up 11.5%; margin 15.6%
Order inflow $1.26 billion against $1.59 billion a year ago
Headcount 88,835
Attrition (last twelve months) 13.3%

The headline revenue growth of 13.6% looks strong, but in constant currency the growth was 5.1%, which is the better guide to underlying demand. Net profit was flat and the net profit margin slipped to 11.7% from 13.3%. Order inflow of $1.26 billion is about 21% lower than a year ago (my calculation), and that is the number that worries analysts more than the LTM dividend.

There was a bright spot in artificial intelligence. Enterprise AI and Business AI revenue together grew 47% YoY, and chief executive Venu Lambu said the company is well positioned for stronger growth ahead. The company gave no formal guidance, so that statement is a view and not a forecast.

LTM Share Price Around the Dividend

LTM dividend: price point Level
Close on 16 Oct 2026 (results day) Rs 4,390, up 3.66%
Previous close on 22 Oct Rs 4,249
Open today Rs 4,318.30
Day high Rs 4,382.90
Day low Rs 4,142.20
Last traded price (about 12:30 PM) Rs 4,168.30, down 1.9%

The LTM dividend of Rs 25 is about 0.6% of the price, so it explains only a small part of today's fall of Rs 80.70. On an ex-dividend day a stock often drifts lower by roughly the payout, but the rest of the move is the market. The shares fell about 5.5% from the day high to the day low (my calculation), even though the Nifty IT index was among the best sectors on a weak day.

A dividend is not extra return. It is a part of the company's value paid out in cash, and the share price adjusts for it. An investor should not buy a stock only to collect a small payout, because the price can fall by a similar amount, and tax on the dividend makes the net gain smaller.

LTM Dividend: What Should Investors Do?

LTM dividend: investor type (my reading) Points to weigh
Existing shareholder The Rs 25 payout is credited to eligible holders, so no action is needed; keep the filing for tax records
New buyer today The shares are ex-dividend, so judge the stock on Q2 results, order inflow and valuation and not on the payout
Income-focused investor A yield near 0.6% is low, so this is a growth and quality holding more than an income holding

This is an educational view and not advice. The case for or against the stock rests on order inflow, margins and the pace of AI-led deals in the coming quarters.

What to Watch Next on the LTM Dividend and the Stock

  1. The payment date of the LTM dividend in the exchange filing
  2. Order inflow in the next quarter against the $1.26 billion reported in Q2
  3. EBIT margin, which stood at 15.6%, and any recovery in profit growth
  4. The final dividend for FY27, which the board decides after the annual results
  5. Currency movements and the demand outlook in the US and Europe

Conclusion

LTM dividend of Rs 25 per share goes to holders on the record date of 23 Oct 2026, 13.6% above last year's interim payout, with a yield of about 0.6% at Rs 4,168.30. The Q2 results show double-digit revenue growth, flat profit and weaker order inflow, so the stock will depend on deal wins more than on the payout. Read the filing and decide on your own horizon.
