LTTS Share Price Surges 15% After Q2 Results: Should Investors Buy, Sell or Hold the Stock? What Experts Suggest
The LTTS share price opened at Rs 3,848 against a previous close of Rs 3,609.80 on BSE and touched an intraday high of Rs 4,140.50, a jump of 14.7%, after L&T Technology Services reported its Q2 FY27 results. At 10:26 AM IST on 21 Oct 2026 the stock was at about Rs 4,010 on NSE, up 11% from Rs 3,611.30. Reported net profit rose 66.8% to Rs 548.2 crore, but Rs 165 crore of that is a one-time gain. I could not access the brokerage notes behind the expert views on the Q2 results, so none is quoted.

Quick Answer
The LTTS share price rose sharply on 21 Oct 2026 because Q2 FY27 revenue grew 12.1% to Rs 3,040.4 crore, the EBIT margin improved to 16.3% and large deal wins crossed $200 million. Reported net profit of Rs 548.2 crore was boosted by a Rs 165 crore gain from selling the SWC business, so the cleaner profit figure is about Rs 380 crore. The board also declared an interim dividend of Rs 20 per share with a record date of 27 Oct 2026. Whether to buy, sell or hold the LTTS share price depends on how much of the rally you believe is already in the price, so the data below shows what has changed and what has not.
The LTTS share price had fallen 2.78% on 19 Oct, the day the Q2 results came out after market hours, and the first reaction on 21 Oct reversed that and more. The LTTS share price opened 6.6% higher on BSE and kept climbing for the first hour, helped by a strong tape in IT stocks.
This guide to the LTTS share price covers the price move, the Q2 results, how much of the profit is one-off, the deal and AI commentary, the dividend, how the stock behaved after its last results and the risks. It is educational and not a recommendation to buy or sell any share.

LTTS Share Price Today: How Far the Stock Has Moved
| Item | NSE | BSE |
|---|---|---|
| Previous close (19 Oct) | Rs 3,611.30 | Rs 3,609.80 |
| Open on 21 Oct | Rs 3,830.70 | Rs 3,848 |
| Intraday high | Rs 4,143 | Rs 4,140.50 |
| Last price (10:26 AM IST) | Rs 4,009.90, up 11.0% | Rs 4,011.30, up 11.1% |
| 52-week range | Rs 3,010 to Rs 4,726 | Rs 3,030 to Rs 4,746.95 |
The LTTS share price has given back about a quarter of its peak gain since the high, which is common after a results gap. At Rs 4,010 it is about 33% above its 52-week low and about 15% below its 52-week high (my calculation). It was Rs 3,379.80 on 24 Apr, so the LTTS share price is up about 19% in six months, and it was above Rs 3,700 as recently as 16 Oct before the dip.

LTTS Q2 FY27 Results at a Glance
| Metric | Q2 FY27 | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | Rs 3,040.4 crore (about $317.1 million) | Up 12.1% YoY and 3.4% QoQ in rupees |
| Constant currency growth | 4.8% YoY, 2.7% QoQ | Dollar basis |
| EBIT | Rs 496.6 crore | Margin 16.3%, up 60 bps QoQ and 220 bps YoY |
| Net profit | Rs 548.2 crore | Up 66.8% YoY and 53.7% QoQ |
| Net profit margin | 18.0% | Lifted by the one-off gain |
| Headcount | 24,035 | As of 30 Sep 2026 |
Some outlets print the net profit as Rs 5,482 crore. That is a units error, since the company reports Rs 5,482 million, which is Rs 548.2 crore, and I use the corrected figure throughout. Revenue growth of 12.1% in rupees looks strong, but the constant currency figure of 4.8% is the better guide to underlying demand because the rupee has weakened against the dollar.

How Much of the Net Profit Jump Is a One-Off?
| Item | Amount | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Reported net profit | Rs 548.2 crore | Up 66.8% from Rs 328.7 crore |
| Gain from SWC disinvestment | Rs 165 crore | About 30% of reported profit |
| Profit excluding the gain | About Rs 380 crore | A report puts it at Rs 379.6 crore, up 19.7% from Rs 317.2 crore |
| My simple subtraction | Rs 383.2 crore | Rs 548.2 crore less Rs 165 crore, before any tax on the gain |
The company release does not say whether the gain was taxed, which is why the two cleaner figures differ by about Rs 3.6 crore. Either way, the underlying profit grew by about 20%, not 67%, and that is the number the LTTS share price should be judged against.
Risk: A trailing price to earnings ratio of about 29 against an industry figure of 17.5 may include the one-off gain, so the LTTS share price could look better or worse value than it is on clean earnings. Check the ratio for the LTTS share price again once the next quarter is out.
Large Deals, AI Revenue and the Outlook
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Large deal wins | More than $200 million in total contract value in Q2 |
| AI share of those deals | More than 50% |
| Individual wins | One of $75 million, one above $30 million, one of $25 million and six above $10 million |
| Engineering Intelligence revenue | About $120 million annualised, as reported |
| Management outlook | Revenue momentum to strengthen further in H2 with healthy EBIT margins |
| Five-year aspiration | 13% to 15% revenue growth a year and 16% to 17% EBIT margin |
CEO Amit Chadha tied the sequential gains in revenue, margin, large deals and AI revenue to the company's Engineering Intelligence push, including the EIOne platform and a lab set up with NVIDIA for physical AI. Large deals matter for the LTTS share price because they feed revenue over several quarters, but total order intake and attrition were not given in the release, so the quality of the pipeline behind the LTTS share price cannot be fully checked.
Should You Buy, Sell or Hold the LTTS Share Price?
| View | What supports it | What would challenge it |
|---|---|---|
| Buy | Higher margin, strong deal wins, AI momentum, H2 guidance | The LTTS share price already gained 11% to 15% in one session |
| Hold | Underlying profit up about 20% with a 16.3% EBIT margin | Constant currency growth of 2.7% QoQ is modest |
| Sell or book profit | A gap-up of this size can fade within days | Dividend of Rs 20 is only about 0.5% of the price |

The Dividend and Record Date
The board declared an interim dividend of Rs 20 per share with a record date of 27 Oct 2026. At about Rs 4,010 the interim dividend is a payout of roughly 0.5% of the LTTS share price (my calculation), so it is a small part of the return. One source lists the face value as Rs 20 and another as Rs 2, so check the exchange filing for the exact figure if it matters to you.
What Happened to the LTTS Share Price After Its Last Results
After the Q1 results in July the LTTS share price rose 6.5% in one session, from Rs 3,293.10 on 14 Jul to Rs 3,508.30 on 15 Jul, but it was back at Rs 3,306.40 by 21 Jul, as the daily data show (my calculation). That fade is the main reason some investors wait for a pullback in the LTTS share price after an earnings gap. This time the move is larger, and the market is also being lifted by IT stocks, which gained about 2.3% on the Nifty IT index at 10:26 AM IST.
What to Watch Next for the LTTS Share Price
- Whether the LTTS share price holds above its 19 Oct close of Rs 3,611 after the gap
- The record date of 27 Oct for the Rs 20 interim dividend
- Brokerage target changes and any rating upgrades after the Q2 results
- Large deal conversion and order intake disclosed in Q3
- Moves in the Nifty IT index and the rupee
Conclusion
The LTTS share price jumped on Q2 results because margins, deals and the AI story all improved, but the headline profit is flattered by a Rs 165 crore one-off gain. The cleaner picture is revenue up 12.1%, EBIT margin at 16.3% and underlying profit up about 20%, which is good but not 67%. Look at the data, check the brokerage notes and decide on your own risk profile.

Ans. The company reported Q2 FY27 revenue growth of 12.1%, a higher EBIT margin of 16.3% and more than $200 million of large deal wins. Reported net profit also rose 66.8%, although part of that came from a one-time gain.
What is the real profit growth behind the LTTS share price rise?
Ans. A Rs 165 crore gain from the SWC disinvestment lifted reported profit to Rs 548.2 crore. Excluding it, profit is about Rs 380 crore, up roughly 19.7%, according to one report.
What is the LTTS dividend and record date?
Ans. The board declared an interim dividend of Rs 20 per share with a record date of 27 Oct 2026. At about Rs 4,010 for the LTTS share price, that is a yield of roughly 0.5% on the interim payout alone.
