Stocks to watch today on 23 Oct 2026 are led by Q2 results from Infosys, Adani Power, BPCL and Tata Motors, and by the reaction to results from Swiggy, Cyient, Adani Energy Solutions and HPCL. The prices below are from about 12:25 PM, when the Nifty 50 was down about 1.15% near 22,426. The Jio Platforms IPO (Jio IPO) also closes today and was subscribed 6.90 times at 12:10 PM.
Quick Answer
Stocks to watch today include Infosys, which reports Q2 FY27 after the market closes with a Bloomberg consensus profit of about Rs 7,904 crore, and Adani Power, which also reports today. Swiggy fell about 14% after a wider loss, Cyient rose about 6% on its Q2 numbers and Rs 12 dividend, and Adani Energy Solutions fell about 6% despite a sharp rise in profit. HPCL fell more than 3% as Brent crude hit $114. All prices are intraday and can change by the close.
The list of stocks to watch today is busy, because 75 companies report Q2 results on 23 Oct and the market is falling for the fourth session in a row. A falling market can hide good results and exaggerate bad ones, so for stocks to watch today the reaction matters as much as the numbers.
This article on stocks to watch today gives the facts for each name, the results and levels, and the other items in focus. It is educational and not a recommendation to buy or sell. Where sources disagree on stocks to watch today I say so.

Infosys: Q2 FY27 Results After Market Hours
| Stocks to watch today: Infosys estimate | Net profit | Revenue or other |
|---|---|---|
| Bloomberg consensus | About Rs 7,904 crore | Sales about Rs 49,108 crore; operating margin 21.2% |
| Jefferies | Pre-tax profit Rs 7,919.70 crore, up 7.5% | Revenue Rs 49,144 crore, up 10.5% |
| Emkay (Buy, target Rs 1,300) | Rs 8,026.70 crore, up 9% | Sales Rs 49,323 crore, up 10.9% |
| Kotak Institutional Equities | Rs 7,689 crore, up 4.4% | Organic constant currency growth of 1.1% |
| HDFC Institutional Equities (target Rs 1,250) | Rs 8,038 crore | Sales Rs 49,090 crore; deal wins of $2-3 billion |
Among stocks to watch today, Infosys is the biggest event. The announcement is expected around 3:45 PM IST, with a press conference at 4:30 PM and a call at 6 PM, and the board will consider an interim dividend. The main question is FY27 guidance. Emkay expects the constant currency revenue guidance to be trimmed to 1.5% to 2.5% from 1.5% to 3%, with the 20% to 22% EBIT margin range kept. The company is also preparing for a leadership transition, and AI-led pricing deflation is a watch item.
Infosys is up 0.34% at Rs 1,157.25 among stocks to watch today, and IT stocks are the strongest sector today, with TCS up more than 2%. The Bloomberg consensus 12-month target is Rs 1,186, about 2.5% above the current price (my calculation). The range of estimates for profit is narrow, so the guidance and deal wins will drive the reaction more than the profit figure.

Adani Power: Q2 Results Today
Adani Power is the second big result among stocks to watch today. In Q1 FY27 it had total income of Rs 16,427.03 crore and net profit of Rs 4,105.43 crore, so the June quarter is the bar. The stock closed at Rs 185.27 on 22 Oct and is at Rs 177 now, a fall of 4.46%. It had gained about 24.5% this year and lost about 10.5% in a month as of 22 Oct, according to Kotak Neo. I did not find analyst estimates for Q2, so I do not give any.
Tata Motors: Results and a Record Sales Quarter
For stocks to watch today, the Business Standard list names Tata Motors among the 75 companies reporting today, and the company has scheduled an analyst call. The passenger vehicle business reported its highest-ever quarterly sales on 2 Oct, with 201,723 units, up 40%, and electric vehicle sales of 47,150 units, up 90%. EVs formed 23% of passenger vehicle sales and CNG 28%, so the two together were 51%. Both listed Tata Motors stocks are down more than 3% today, and I found no reason in my sources for the fall, including no Jaguar Land Rover figures.
Swiggy, Cyient and Adani Energy Solutions: Reaction to Results
| Stocks to watch today: company | Q2 FY27 result | Stock reaction |
|---|---|---|
| Swiggy | Revenue Rs 7,571 crore, up 36.1%; net loss Rs 922 crore against an average estimate of Rs 792 crore | Down about 14.4% to Rs 180.90; new low |
| Cyient | Net profit Rs 132.5 crore, down 7% YoY; total income Rs 2,243.6 crore, up 22.5%; Rs 12 interim dividend, record date 28 Oct | Up 5.97% to Rs 1,212 |
| Adani Energy Solutions | Revenue Rs 10,075.54 crore, up 52.74%; net profit Rs 1,322.85 crore against Rs 533.97 crore | Down 6.28% to Rs 1,214 |
Swiggy is the weakest story among stocks to watch today. Instamart’s loss widened to Rs 895 crore, and analysts cut targets, as Business Standard reported. Cyient is the opposite, and the best performer among stocks to watch today. Its digital, engineering and technology unit reported revenue of $174 million, up 7.5% QoQ in constant currency, with order intake up 21% YoY to $158 million. Motilal Oswal kept a Sell rating with a target of Rs 1,020 but raised its estimates, and SBI Securities sees support at Rs 1,230 to 1,240 and resistance at Rs 1,280.
The Cyient numbers conflict across sources. Business Standard reports net profit of Rs 132.5 crore, down 7%, while Upstox lists Rs 121.4 crore, up 16.6% QoQ, which may be a different line item. I use the Business Standard figures and flag the difference. Adani Energy Solutions is falling even though profit rose more than 2.4 times, which shows that a strong result does not protect a stock on a day like this (my calculation: 1,322.85 divided by 533.97).
HPCL and the Oil Marketing Stocks
Among stocks to watch today, HPCL reported a standalone Q2 profit of Rs 3,482.62 crore on 22 Oct, against a loss of Rs 11,526.41 crore in Q1. The stock is down 3.10% at Rs 330.25 because Brent crude rose to $114.70 on reports of attacks on Saudi targets. BPCL reports today, and IOCL is down more than 3% as well. Oil marketing stocks in the list of stocks to watch today have been trading on crude and not on results.
Other Stocks in Focus Today
| Stocks to watch today: item | Detail |
|---|---|
| LTM | Record date for the Rs 25 interim dividend; the stock trades ex-dividend at Rs 4,168.30, down 1.9% |
| Nippon Life India AMC | Fell as much as 9.7% after Q2 profit dropped on a Rs 96.76 crore SEBI settlement charge; dividend Rs 9.50, record date 28 Oct |
| Karur Vysya Bank | Down 6.25% at Rs 333.80 after a lifetime high of Rs 374.95 on 19 Oct |
| Jio Platforms IPO | Final day; subscribed 6.90 times at 12:10 PM, with institutional buyers at 14.46 times and retail at 2.02 times |
| Colgate-Palmolive India | Interim dividend of Rs 24 with a record date of 2 Nov |
| CIE Automotive | Down about 6.5% near its 52-week low of Rs 341 |
| Companies reporting Q2 today | Dr Reddy’s, Coforge, JSW Steel, IndusInd Bank, Godrej Properties, Shriram Finance, Torrent Pharma, SBI Cards, Shree Cement and others |
The Jio IPO is the other major event beside the results. It is a large issue, and a strong Jio IPO subscription of 6.90 times at midday shows demand from institutions, though listing day moves cannot be predicted from subscription alone.
Stocks to Watch Today: What Should Investors Do?
| Stocks to watch today: investor type (my reading) | Points to weigh |
|---|---|
| Long-term investor | Results days create sharp moves in stocks to watch today that often settle within a few sessions; judge each company on the full quarter and guidance |
| Short-term trader | Infosys and Adani Power report after the close or late in the day, so the stocks to watch today may gap overnight and position size should allow for that |
| Cautious investor | Wait for the close and for the numbers to be read in full before reacting to a midday price |
This is an educational view and not advice. A list of stocks to watch today is a list of stocks in the news, not a list of buy ideas, and the list of stocks to watch today will change by the close.
