Subros Shares Jump Up to 10% on Rs 1,225 Crore Maruti Suzuki Order: Seven-Year HVAC Contract, Q1 Numbers, Valuation and What Next

Subros shares jumped as much as 10.2% to Rs 678.80 on the NSE on Wednesday, 28 Oct 2026, after the company won an order worth about Rs 1,225 crore from Maruti Suzuki, but at 11:26 AM they traded at Rs 624.05, up only 1.33% from Rs 615.85 and about 8.1% below the day high (my calculation). The contract covers HVAC assemblies over about seven years.

Quick Answer

Subros shares jumped up to 10% because the company won a Rs 1,225 crore order from Maruti Suzuki to supply YM3 and YU0 HVAC assemblies over a life cycle of about seven years. The order equals about 30% of the company’s market cap and about Rs 175 crore a year if spread evenly (my calculation), but the start date is tied to Maruti’s production milestones and the stock has already given back most of its gain. Q1 FY27 revenue rose 17.5% while the operating margin fell to 8.44%, and Q2 results have not been reported. This is educational and not a recommendation.

Subros shares are in focus because a seven-year contract with India’s largest passenger vehicle maker gives the company long-term visibility. This article covers the Subros Maruti Suzuki order, what it means for revenue, the Q1 numbers, the valuation of Subros shares and the technical levels, using prices as of 11:26 AM IST.

The sources do not give a start date for deliveries, the expected margin on the order or the existing order book, and I did not find the Q2 FY27 results date. Subros is a thermal systems supplier, and the order was announced on 27 Oct. It is educational and not advice.

Subros Shares: Price Move on the Order News

Subros shares: reference Level Meaning (my calculation)
Previous close, 27 Oct (NSE) Rs 615.85 Base for the move
Open, 28 Oct Rs 645.00 Gap up of about 4.7%
Day high Rs 678.80 About 10.2% above the previous close
Day low Rs 617.30 Close to the previous close
NSE at 11:26 AM Rs 624.05, up 1.33% About 8.1% below the day high
Volume on the NSE About 8.8 lakh shares by 11:26 AM Active trading

The headline figure of a 10% jump is the day high, and the stock gave back most of it within two hours. The BSE price of Rs 622.85 is only 0.65% higher than its previous close of Rs 618.80, so the Subros share price shows a modest gain on both exchanges.

The Subros Maruti Suzuki Order: What We Know

Subros shares: order detail Reported fact What it means (my calculation)
Customer Maruti Suzuki India Largest passenger vehicle maker in India
Order value About Rs 1,225 crore About 30% of the market cap of about Rs 4,090 crore
Scope Supply of YM3 and YU0 HVAC assembly units Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems
Duration Life cycle of about seven years About Rs 175 crore a year if spread evenly
Start date Not stated; tied to Maruti’s production-start milestones Revenue timing is uncertain
Plant footprint Strengthens manufacturing presence in western India Company statement
Related party Arm’s length transaction Company statement

Against the revenue of the last four reported quarters, about Rs 3,948 crore (my calculation from the data provider), Rs 175 crore a year is about 4.4%, so the order is helpful but not transformational. If the contract ramps up unevenly, a single year could be higher or lower. The value of the order is also a company estimate over the life of the models, and each HVAC assembly supplied adds to revenue only when Maruti starts production.

Subros Q1 FY27 Numbers

Subros shares: Q1 FY27 (Rs crore) Jun 2026 Jun 2025 Change (my calculation)
Revenue 1,038.30 883.94 Up about 17.5%
EBITDA 86.99 87.70 Down about 0.8%
Operating margin 8.44% 10.01% Down about 1.6 percentage points
Net profit 41.52 40.83 Up about 1.7%

Revenue is growing faster than profit, because the margin has narrowed. Quarterly profit has stayed near Rs 35 crore to Rs 49 crore for five quarters, which means the new Maruti order will help only if it carries a healthy margin. Q2 results have not appeared on the data provider, so the latest quarter is Q1.

Valuation of Subros Shares

Subros shares: metric Reading Note
Market capitalisation About Rs 4,090 crore at Rs 624.05 (my calculation) Provider shows Rs 4,037 crore at the previous close
Price to earnings About 24.5 times (my calculation) On earnings per share of Rs 25.50; industry about 35.2 times
Price to book About 3.3 times Book value Rs 190.71 per share
Return on equity 13.31% Provider figure
Debt to equity 0.02 Almost debt free
Dividend yield About 0.5% Provider figure

Subros shares trade at a discount to the industry on trailing earnings, with almost no debt, which gives some cushion to the Subros share price. A discount can also reflect lower margins and slower profit growth, so it is not a signal on its own. The company’s market cap is small, so large orders can move the price sharply.

Technical Levels for Subros Shares

Subros shares: indicator (daily, 28 Oct) Reading Meaning
RSI (14) 34.3 Weak momentum; below 30 would be oversold
20-day EMA Rs 649.04 Price is about 3.9% below it (my calculation)
Supertrend (10, 3) Downtrend; upper band Rs 665.46 A close above Rs 665.46 would flip the signal to up
Supertrend lower band Rs 560.20 Distant support

The day high of Rs 678.80 touched above the Supertrend resistance of Rs 665.46 but did not hold, which shows that sellers met the rally. The Subros share price needs a close above that level to turn the trend. These readings are not targets, and any trade should have a stop loss and a position size set beforehand.

Risks to Subros Shares

  1. Rollout delays. Delays in Maruti Suzuki’s model launches would push back revenue from the order.
  2. Demand swings. Demand for each HVAC assembly, the YM3 and YU0 units, can fluctuate with vehicle sales.
  3. Commodity costs. Raw material price swings can hurt margins over a long contract.
  4. Margin pressure. The operating margin fell to 8.44% in Q1 FY27, and the order will matter only if margins hold.
  5. Customer concentration. A large share of future growth may depend on one customer, and Maruti’s own Q2 profit fell 26.4%.

Conclusion: Subros Shares Gain Visibility but Need Margin Proof

Subros shares got a boost from a Rs 1,225 crore, seven-year Maruti Suzuki contract, but the market has already faded most of the gain, and the margin and start date remain open questions. The Q2 results and the production schedule are the next checks. Read the company’s disclosure on Subros shares and decide with your own risk profile.
