Small-Cap Dividend Stocks: 9 High-Yield Names From PTC India and Premco Global to Gujarat Pipavav Port, and Why a 15% Dividend Yield Needs a Second Look

9 small-cap dividend stocks, yields 5% to 15%. PTC India 14.9% at Rs 154.55, Premco Global about 10.6%. PTC final dividend Rs 5.50, record date 7 Oct.

Quick Answer

Small-cap dividend stocks screened on June 2026 results show nine names yielding about 5% to 15% on current prices, led by PTC India at roughly 14.9%, Jagran Prakashan at 11.3% and Premco Global at about 10.6%. Two of the biggest yields rest on unusually large payouts: PTC India’s Rs 23 interim dividend and Premco’s Rs 36 special dividend in November 2025. PTC India has also fixed 7 October as the record date for a Rs 5.50 final dividend. A high yield can signal a falling price or an unsustainable payout, so check the payout ratio and cash flow before chasing it.

A dividend yield of 10% or more looks like free money, but in small-cap dividend stocks it often comes from a one-off payment or a collapsed share price. The nine small-cap dividend stocks below were screened from companies with a dividend yield above 5% and a price under Rs 200, after removing infrastructure trusts and large caps.

This guide gives the dividend yield, valuation and latest quarterly profit trend for each of the small-cap dividend stocks, explains how PTC India and Premco Global reached their yields, and lists the checks that separate durable income from a payout that may not repeat. Data is from exchange filings and screening tools as of 1 October, so recheck it before acting. The nine names are PTC India, Jagran Prakashan, Premco Global, Allcargo Logistics, KSE Ltd, Gujarat Pipavav Port, PTL Enterprises, Balmer Lawrie Investment and Aptech, and the guide also lists record and ex-dividend dates.

How to Read the Dividend Yield of Small-Cap Dividend Stocks

For small-cap dividend stocks, dividend yield is the dividend paid over the past twelve months divided by the current share price. Two things can push it up without any benefit to you: a one-off special dividend, or a falling share price that shrinks the denominator.

Durable small-cap dividend stocks need earnings and cash flow behind the yield. The payout ratio, which is dividends divided by earnings, should normally stay below 100%, and a payout above that means the company is paying from reserves.

PTC India: Why the Dividend Yield Is Close to 15%

PTC India dividend Per share Date
Interim dividend Rs 23.00 Ex-date 10 August 2026
Interim dividend Rs 3.00 Ex-date 20 February 2026
Final dividend for FY26 Rs 5.50 Record date 7 October 2026, subject to AGM approval

The Rs 23 interim dividend and the Rs 3 payout add up to Rs 26 over the past twelve months, which is why the yield on a price near Rs 155 is 15% to nearly 17% depending on the data provider. With a P/E of about 8.9, earnings per share are about Rs 17, so the Rs 26 already paid is larger than a year’s earnings.

The business is a power trader with thin margins and a shrinking profit: net profit was Rs 112.08 crore in the June quarter, down 49.8% year on year, on sales of Rs 4,773.80 crore, up 19.1%. A payout above earnings is hard to repeat every year, so treat the headline yield as a one-time cash return and not a guaranteed annual income.

Premco Global: How a Special Dividend Lifts the Yield

Premco Global dividend Per share Type
November 2025 Rs 36.00 Special
February 2026 Rs 2.00 Interim
August 2026 (record date 14 August) Rs 2.00 Interim
August 2026 (record date 25 August) Rs 2.00 Final

The trailing payout of about Rs 42 gives a yield of about 10.6% on a price near Rs 400. Remove the Rs 36 special dividend and the regular payout is about Rs 6 a year, a yield of only about 1.5%. That gap is the most important number to check before buying high-yield small-cap dividend stocks.

The Other Seven Small-Cap Dividend Stocks in Brief

Jagran Prakashan: An 11.3% yield on a P/E of 7.2 looks inexpensive, but June quarter profit fell 12.5%, so check whether a one-off payout lifted the yield.

Allcargo Logistics: The 8.6% yield sits beside a P/E above 41 and a 227% jump in quarterly profit from a low base, which is an unusual mix for a dividend stock.

KSE Ltd: A 7.0% yield and a return on capital of about 33% stand out, but June quarter profit collapsed 98%.

Gujarat Pipavav Port: The strongest of the group, with a 6.5% yield, quarterly profit up 41.8%, sales up 32.6% and a return on capital of 28%.

PTL Enterprises: A 6.5% yield on a P/E of 11 and a market capitalisation of about Rs 514 crore, with profit down 5.1%.

Balmer Lawrie Investment: A 5.9% yield on a P/E of 9 with steady profit growth of 1.9% and a return on capital of 16.9%.

Aptech: The lowest yield at 5.1%, but profit grew 11.4% and sales 11.1%, with a P/E of about 20.

Dividend Checks Before Buying High-Yield Small-Cap Dividend Stocks

  1. Look at the dividend history for special or one-off payments.
  2. Compare dividends with earnings per share to find the payout ratio.
  3. Check that operating cash flow covers the payout.
  4. Review the profit trend, since falling profits make a yield harder to sustain.
  5. Prefer low debt and a record of regular payments over several years.

Dividends are taxable in your hands at your income tax slab rate, and tax may be deducted at source above a threshold, so use the after-tax yield when you compare small-cap dividend stocks with other income options.

Record Dates and Ex-Dividend Dates for Small-Cap Dividend Stocks

To receive a dividend from small-cap dividend stocks you must hold the shares on the record date, and under T+1 settlement the shares trade ex-dividend on that same day. For PTC India’s Rs 5.50 final dividend, the record date is Wednesday, 7 October, so the last day to buy is Tuesday, 6 October. NSE and BSE are closed on 2 October, and trading resumes on 5 October.

Risks of Chasing Small-Cap Dividend Stocks

Yield traps: A falling share price can create a high yield on small-cap dividend stocks just before the dividend is cut.

One-off payouts: Special dividends boost the yield once but may never recur.

Liquidity: Many small-cap dividend stocks can be hard to sell quickly, especially in a falling market.

Earnings pressure: Several small-cap dividend stocks on the list reported lower profits in the June quarter.

Conclusion

Small-cap dividend stocks can pay 5% to 15% on today’s prices, but the biggest yields come from payouts that may not repeat: PTC India paid more than a year’s earnings and Premco’s regular yield is only about 1.5%. Gujarat Pipavav Port, Aptech and Balmer Lawrie Investment show steadier profit trends among small-cap dividend stocks. Check payout ratios, cash flow and the record date, and consult a SEBI-registered advisor before making any decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which small-cap dividend stocks have the highest dividend yield?

Ans. On 1 October screening data, PTC India led at about 14.9%, followed by Jagran Prakashan at 11.3% and Premco Global at about 10.6%. Infrastructure trusts with higher yields are excluded.

Why is PTC India’s dividend yield so high?

Ans. PTC India paid a Rs 23 interim dividend in August 2026 and Rs 3 in February 2026, which is Rs 26 on a price near Rs 155. That is more than its earnings per share of about Rs 17, so the payout may not repeat.

What is the PTC India final dividend record date?

Ans. PTC India has fixed Wednesday, 7 October 2026 as the record date for a Rs 5.50 final dividend for FY26, subject to shareholder approval. The last day to buy is 6 October.

How much of Premco Global’s dividend yield comes from a special dividend?

Ans. Premco paid a Rs 36 special dividend in November 2025 plus about Rs 6 in regular dividends over the past year. Excluding the special payout, the regular yield is only about 1.5%.

What is a dividend yield trap?

Ans. A dividend yield trap is a high yield caused by a falling share price or a one-off payment, not by strong earnings. In small-cap dividend stocks the dividend is often cut later.

How do I check whether small-cap dividend stocks can sustain their dividends?

Ans. Compare the dividend with earnings per share and cash flow, look at debt, and check whether the history includes special payouts. A payout ratio above 100% is a warning sign.

Are dividends taxable in India?

Ans. Yes. Dividends are taxed in the investor’s hands at the applicable income tax slab rate, and tax may be deducted at source above a threshold.

Are small-cap dividend stocks a good investment?

Ans. This article does not constitute investment advice. Small caps are volatile and dividends are not guaranteed, so consult a SEBI-registered financial advisor before investing.
