Stock Market Today was largely rangebound at the index level, masking a sharp rotation underneath the surface as investors piled into IT stocks while booking profits in FMCG and banking names. The Nifty 50 was trading at 23,985.50, down 10.45 points or 0.04 percent, while the BSE Sensex was at 76,776.27, down 59.51 points or 0.08 percent, as of the afternoon session on 28 July 2026.<\/p>\n

The muted index-level moves came a day after the Sensex surged over 1 percent and the Nifty neared the 24,000 mark on 27 July, snapping a five-session losing streak in an oil-led relief rally. Today’s session saw the market open on a flat note before Nifty IT extended its rally into a third consecutive day, offsetting weakness in FMCG, banking, and select consumption names.<\/p>\n
