BSE Capital Goods index down over 1.5% on 7 July 2026. Cochin Shipyard -4.21%, GE Vernova T&D -3.11%, CG Power -2.3%, Siemens -2.29% lead the fall among 20-plus capital goods stocks.<\/em><\/p>\n

The BSE Capital Goods index<\/strong> declined over 1.5 percent on 7 July 2026, making it one of the weakest sector indices in an otherwise firm broader market. Cochin Shipyard led the fall, slipping more than 4 percent, followed by GE Vernova T&D, CG Power and Siemens, all down over 2 percent.<\/p>\n

The broad-based decline across engineering, power equipment and defence manufacturing names came even as the Nifty 50 and Sensex traded modestly higher, underlining stock-specific and sector-specific pressure rather than a market-wide risk-off move.<\/p>\n
