United Spirits share price rose nearly 3% on 18 June 2026 as India and the United Kingdom confirmed their free trade agreement will come into force on July 15, slashing whisky import tariffs from 150% to 40%. Tilaknagar Industries and other liquor stocks also gained as the confirmed effective date crystallised a structural margin tailwind for the spirits sector. JPMorgan maintains an Overweight rating on United Spirits with a target of Rs 1,600, viewing the FTA as a meaningful catalyst for the premium Scotch portfolio that includes Johnnie Walker, Black Dog and VAT 69.<\/p>\n
