Top Stocks to Buy: Experts Bet on SBI, Bank of Baroda, Meesho, CG Power and 2 Others | Target Price, Stop-Loss

The six stocks to buy named for the next one to two weeks are SBI, Bank of Baroda, Meesho, Shyam Metalics, CG Power and Tips Music, with analysts citing technical patterns and momentum and warning that high crude, mixed earnings and geopolitical risks may keep markets fragile. I could not access the experts’ own target and stop-loss levels, so this article shows live prices from about 10:07 AM IST on 21 Oct 2026 and only the brokerage targets I could verify.

Quick Answer

The stocks to buy named by analysts for the next one to two weeks are SBI at Rs 973.90, Bank of Baroda at Rs 238.27, Meesho at Rs 221.67, CG Power at Rs 835.60, Shyam Metalics at Rs 1,202.90 and Tips Music at Rs 751.65. Most trade well below their 52-week highs, except Shyam Metalics and Tips Music, which are within 3% to 4% of theirs. The only verified brokerage target I found for these stocks to buy is Goldman Sachs’ Buy call on Shyam Metalics with a target of Rs 1,120, which the stock has already passed. Check the original recommendation for each of the stocks to buy for the target and stop-loss, because I could not see them.

A target price and a stop-loss belong together, since the first says where an analyst expects the stock to go and the second says where the idea is wrong. For short-term stocks to buy, that exit point matters more than the target, and the best stocks to buy are the ones where you know the exit before you enter.

This guide on stocks to buy covers the live data for each stock, the verified brokerage views, how far each stock sits from its 52-week range and the risks. It is educational and not a recommendation to buy or sell any share.

Stocks to Buy: Live Price Snapshot

Stock Last price (about 10:07 AM IST) Change from previous close 52-week range Distance from 52-week high (my calculation)
SBI Rs 973.90 Up 0.0% Rs 891.05 to Rs 1,234.70 About 21% below
Bank of Baroda Rs 238.27 Up 0.0% Rs 223.82 to Rs 325.50 About 27% below
Meesho Rs 221.67 Down 3.4% Rs 125.56 to Rs 254.40 About 13% below
CG Power Rs 835.60 Down 2.2% Rs 525.50 to Rs 980.90 About 15% below
Shyam Metalics Rs 1,202.90 Down 1.9% Rs 746 to Rs 1,240.50 About 3% below
Tips Music Rs 751.65 Down 2.6% Rs 481.15 to Rs 785 About 4% below

Four of the six stocks to buy were lower in early trade, and these stocks to buy gave a weak start, with only SBI and Bank of Baroda were flat. The Nifty was near 22,990, up about 0.4%.

Compare these stocks to buy on the Univest Screener

SBI and Bank of Baroda: Bank Stocks to Buy

Item SBI Bank of Baroda
Last price Rs 973.90 Rs 238.27
Above the 52-week low About 9% About 6%
Below the 52-week high About 21% About 27%
Verified brokerage target on 21 Oct Not found Not found

Both banks trade far below their highs, so a rebound idea among these stocks to buy rests on a technical pattern and not on a fresh result. I did not find the date of either bank’s Q2 results, and a related headline mentioned that Axis Bank had its biggest single-day fall in about three months after its results, which shows how sensitive bank stocks to buy are to earnings. Anyone treating banks as stocks to buy should read the result first.

Risk: A bank share that is 20% to 27% below its high may be priced low for a reason, such as slower loan growth or margin pressure. Compare the next quarterly results before deciding.

Meesho: A Stock to Buy With Mixed Brokerage Views

Brokerage Rating Target Versus Rs 221.67 (my calculation)
Motilal Oswal Financial Services Buy Rs 240 About 8% higher
Choice Institutional Equities Buy Rs 220 About 1% lower
JM Financial Reduce Rs 185 About 17% lower
UBS Raised target Rs 260 About 17% higher

These targets on Meesho, one of the stocks to buy, are from July, when the stock was near Rs 177, and the UBS date was not stated, so they are dated and the stock has since moved above two of them. The June-quarter results showed revenue up 48% to Rs 3,712.8 crore, net merchandise value up 34% to Rs 11,614 crore and an EBITDA loss of Rs 224.7 crore. Meesho is about 100% above its IPO price of Rs 111 (my calculation), and media reports of a block deal by Elevation Capital in July were not confirmed.

CG Power: An Industrial Stock to Buy After a Fall

Item Detail on 21 Oct
Last price Rs 835.60, down 2.2%
52-week range Rs 525.50 to Rs 980.90
Above the 52-week low About 59%
Below the 52-week high About 15%
Verified target None found for 21 Oct

CG Power has gained about 59% from its low but is still about 15% below its high, and the fall of 2.2% in early trade brings it closer to recent support. No verified brokerage target or technical level for 21 Oct was available, so I do not quote one for this addition to the stocks to buy list.

Shyam Metalics and Tips Music: Stocks to Buy Near Their Highs

Item Shyam Metalics Tips Music
Last price Rs 1,202.90, down 1.9% Rs 751.65, down 2.6%
52-week high Rs 1,240.50 Rs 785
Verified view Goldman Sachs: Buy, target Rs 1,120 Interim dividend Rs 6.50; ex-date 22 Oct
Position against the view About 7% above the target Not applicable

Goldman Sachs maintained Buy on Shyam Metalics on 8 Oct, citing strong Q2 operating performance, record monthly revenue in September 2026 and a 2 Oct memorandum with Maharashtra for a 9 million tonne integrated steel complex in Chandrapur with an estimated investment of Rs 50,000 crore. The stock is now above the Rs 1,120 target, which came when it was below the record of Rs 1,146.95 set on 24 Sep. Tips Music goes ex-dividend on 22 Oct, so its price will adjust by about Rs 6.50, or under 1%, at the open (my calculation).

Risk: A stock near its high with a target already crossed is a late entry among stocks to buy. A pullback can be sharp when momentum fades.

How to Use a Target and Stop-Loss on Stocks to Buy

Step What to do Example using Shyam Metalics
Find the reference price Use the last price, not the price in the article Rs 1,202.90 at 10:07 AM IST
Compare with the target Work out the gap in percent The Rs 1,120 target is about 7% below the price
Set the exit first Decide the loss you accept before entering A 5% loss on Rs 1,202.90 means an exit near Rs 1,143
Check the 52-week range Note how far the stock is from its high and low Within 3% of the high, so room above is small

The example is arithmetic and not a recommendation to treat any of these stocks to buy as safe. Your own risk limit decides the exit, and gaps at the open can take a price past a stop-loss.

What to Watch Next for These Stocks to Buy

  1. Brent crude near $110 and any move in the Gulf, which affects the broader market
  2. Q2 results from the two banks and any change in loan growth or margin
  3. Meesho’s next results and any block deal
  4. Whether Shyam Metalics holds above the Rs 1,120 Goldman target
  5. Tips Music after the ex-dividend date on 22 Oct

Conclusion

The six stocks to buy are a mixed set of ideas: two banks well below their highs, Meesho and CG Power in recovery and Shyam Metalics and Tips Music near their peaks. I could not see the experts’ targets and stop-losses, so check them in the original recommendation and compare with the live data here before you decide.
