IRFC interim dividend FY2026-27: board meeting and Q2 FY27 results on 15 Oct 2026, record date 23 Oct 2026 if approved, amount not yet known. FY26 interim payouts: Rs 1.05 twice. Share price near Rs 77.87 on 12 Oct 2026.

Quick Answer

The IRFC interim dividend has a record date of 23 October 2026, and the board meets on 15 October 2026 to review Q2 FY27 results and consider the payout. The amount is not known yet, and eligibility on the record date applies only if the board approves the dividend. In FY26 the company paid two interim dividends of Rs 1.05 each, a total of Rs 2.10 per share, which is a yield of about 2.7% at Rs 77.87 (my calculation). Check the exchange filing after 15 October for the final amount and the ex-date.

Indian Railway Finance Corporation, the Navratna public sector company that raises money for Indian Railways’ infrastructure and assets, will review its second-quarter results and consider an interim dividend for FY27 on 15 October. The stock rose about 4% on 12 October on news of the IRFC interim dividend.

This guide covers the IRFC interim dividend record date, the board meeting, the dividend history, the yield, the share price and returns, the tax rules and the technical levels analysts are watching. I mark every figure I calculated myself and every place where sources differ.

The IRFC interim dividend is one of the best known payouts in the railway sector, and investors often compare the record date with the board decision.

IRFC Interim Dividend 2026: Dates to Remember

Event Date Status
Trading window closed From 1 October 2026 Per the insider trading policy
Exchange intimation 7 October 2026 Filed
Board meeting for Q2 FY27 results and interim dividend 15 October 2026 Scheduled
Record date for the IRFC interim dividend 23 October 2026 Subject to board approval

Shareholders on the company’s books on the record date are eligible if the board approves the IRFC interim dividend. I could not find the ex-dividend date or the payment date, so confirm them on the exchange. If the ex-date matches the record date, which has been common in recent cycles, 22 October 2026 would be the last day to buy (my calculation, based on T+1 settlement).

Dividend income from the IRFC interim dividend is taxable in the hands of the shareholder, and tax is deducted at source at the rates under the Income Tax Act, 2025. Physical shareholders must submit tax details to the registrar, Beetal Financial and Computer Services, by 23 October 2026, and requests for a lower deduction will not be accepted after that date.

IRFC Interim Dividend History

Financial year Dividend per share (Rs) Detail
FY26 1.05 and 1.05, total 2.10 Interim dividends; first with record date 24 Oct 2025, second in March 2026
FY25 0.80, 0.80 and 0.70, total 2.30 Two interims and a final, per one data page
FY24 0.80 Interim, per the same page

The total paid in the cash flow statement for FY26 was Rs 2,744.39 crore. Dividing by Rs 2.10 per share implies about 1,307 crore shares in issue (my calculation), which supports the Rs 2.10 total. One data page also quotes Rs 2.30 to Rs 3.00 for the last twelve months, which does not reconcile with the Rs 2.10 figure, so I used the cash flow check.

Risk: A board is not obliged to repeat the previous IRFC interim dividend. The amount depends on profit, the cash position and the government’s policy as the majority owner.

IRFC Interim Dividend Yield and Share Price

The stock opened at Rs 74.85 on 12 October, touched a high of Rs 78.07 and traded near Rs 77.87 at 12:40 pm, up about 4.2%, with about 12 million shares traded. On 8 October it was at Rs 75.55.

Basis Dividend (Rs) Dividend yield at Rs 77.87
One interim of Rs 1.05 1.05 About 1.35%
FY26 total of two interims 2.10 About 2.70%
FY25 total including final 2.30 About 2.95%

The yields on the IRFC interim dividend are my calculation and change with the price. They are higher than the 1.7% to 2.1% trailing yield a data page quotes, because the price has fallen since that range was set.

IRFC Returns, Results and Technical Levels

Measure Value
One year return Down 38%
Two year return Down 48%
Record high Rs 229 on 15 July 2024
Fall from the record high About 66%
Q4 FY26 revenue from operations Rs 7,335.75 crore, up 9.12%
Q4 FY26 profit About Rs 1,684 crore, flat
Q4 FY26 EPS Rs 1.29, flat

The Q4 FY26 profit figure is labelled profit before tax in the source table, so treat it with care. No final dividend was announced with the Q4 results. Interest income was Rs 2,901.90 crore against Rs 1,969.62 crore a year earlier, while finance costs rose 10.6% to Rs 5,524.43 crore.

Prithvi Finmart’s Harish Jujarey says the stock is in a strong downtrend and trades below its 20-day exponential moving average near Rs 78.50. A close above that level could take it toward Rs 82 to Rs 83, while a break below Rs 75 negates the bullish view, and the long term trend remains negative. This is one analyst’s view and not a forecast.

Risk: An IRFC interim dividend announcement can lift the price briefly, but the stock has fallen for two years. A dividend does not protect you from a falling price.

What to Watch Next for the IRFC Interim Dividend

  1. The board decision on 15 October 2026 on the IRFC interim dividend amount.
  2. The Q2 FY27 profit, interest income and finance costs.
  3. The ex-dividend date and the payment date in the exchange filing.
  4. Whether the price holds above Rs 75 and clears Rs 78.50.

Conclusion

The IRFC interim dividend has a record date of 23 October 2026, but the amount depends on the board meeting on 15 October. The FY26 payout of Rs 2.10 per share gives a yield near 2.7% at Rs 77.87, yet the stock is down 38% in a year. Read the exchange filing for the final IRFC interim dividend before you act.
